Cute Apron
Being a vegan I make a lot of home cooked meals. I also do all the housework. Personally I find that wearing an apron while I am doing these tasks helps to keep my outfit tidy. I't also comes in handy when you can't find a clean dish towel to dry your hands on. The apron I have been using for that past few years is just a plain black standard one. After looking on Etsy for ideas I figured I could make a pretty cute one myself. I bought some fabric I liked and just used by plain black apron as the pattern for my new one. It was pretty simple to make. The most difficult part was the little ruffle at the bottom and the pockets but even those were not to hard. I did not get enough pictures while I was making it to do a tutorial. I am so sorry, I have been having camera difficulties. I am really pleased with how it came out and still wanted to do a post on it. With every new sewing project, I get a little better. It seems like it was just yesterday that I got my sewing machine and made my first set of curtains, with crooked seems and all. I have come a long way and it just goes to show that practice pays off!

HedgeHog Pincushion!
This is a super cute and easy project. If you don't already have a pincushion you should try making your own. There are many different ways to make a pincushion so if you don't like this version check out the Threadbanger Pincushion Round-up for some other Ideas.
Materials and supplies
Pattern
Small amount of fabric
Felt I used two colors
Black embroidery floss
2 small buttons for the eyes
poly-fil
straight pin
scissors
needle and thread
sewing machine (optional, you can sew this by hand)
Step One
Start by cutting out the pattern. Then you will need to cut out all you pieces. Pin the body fabric piece to the fabric. (Tip: I fold the fabric in half because I need two. This ensures they are exactly the same and it is quicker)
I used felt for the body piece and also the ears.
Step Two
Now that you have all your pieces cut out you will want to like up the felt head piece with the head of the fabric body piece and sew them together.
Once you have both sew together you will want to sew the two body pieces to the base piece.
Pin the raw edge of the bottom to the body to the raw edge of the base. It should look like the pictures above. Sew the first side and then repeat for the second side.
Make sure the hedgehog is inside out when you sew the back together and leave a hole big enough to turn it right-side out and stuff with poly-fil. Once you have it stuffed use a blind stitch to close the hole and use the black embroidery floss to add a nose.
